Listen Now:
Amy Grant's Heart In Motion album was a pop music blockbuster upon its release in March 1991.
The album rose to the Top Ten of the Billboard 200 (as well as #1 on the Christian albums chart for 32 weeks), selling five million copies by the end of 1997, and becoming the best selling Christian album of all time.
The single Baby Baby hit the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Adult Contemporary chart, Every Heartbeat reached #2, That's What Love Is For #7, Good for Me #8, and I Will Remember You #20.
Amy says her decision to record pop albums embracing her faith - rather than recording songs solely for the Christian market - was an attempt to communicate 'life as a whole person' to an audience that often feels alienated by 'Christianese'.
Amy Grant takes her message 'to the streets' with Heart In Motion on Behind The Music.
