When Switchfoot launched its fourth studio album in 2003, it represented the group's evolution toward a more accessible mainstream sound with catchy melodies and state-of-the-art production.
The Beautiful Letdown eventually earned double platinum sales and is now inching toward three million sales due - in no small part - to the success of Dare You to Move and Meant to Live.
For many, The Beautiful Letdown represents the peak of the band's achievement.
But there's something else going onÖ all the songs on the album speak of hope in spite of an imperfect world.
Lead singer Jon Foreman says The Beautiful Letdown is about real life: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
