Mat Kearney

Tue, 4 Jan 2011

Listen Now:

Mat Kearney grew up listening to Michael Jackson's Thriller and Paul Simon's Graceland, and slept on a friend's couch for what seemed like an eternity before cutting his debut album, Bullet, in 2004.
Three years later - thanks in part to VH1 keeping one of his songs in rotation for 45 consecutive weeks - he was playing Madison Square Garden and appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman, touring with John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, The Fray, Jason Mraz, Newsboys, Mute Math, and Train.
We catch up with the former youth pastor whose music is as relevant to mainstream audiences as it is to Christians.
